She played Yente, the Matchmaker. And she received flowers!
We made two arrangements. One is in her room and the other is, you guessed it, on my table! It's so beautiful, I just had to show you.
I kept my bunnies and birds out for a spring look.
I had my kitchen in Colombia decorated in sunflowers because I loved the bright yellow, so I'm still partial to sunflowers.
I try to keep the shelf in the kitchen seasonal, too. So I have an eclectic set of "springy" looking things on it as well.
Does it matter to my family if my table is an oasis? If I can keep it clear and it is ready for a family meal and we are more likely to eat together.
Does it matter if it looks nice or not? I believe it does. A pretty table is a prepared table. I believe that, even though they don't realize it, knowing things were prepared, planned, and thought out, helps the ones who come to the table feel loved.
And besides, then I have something to say to them at the table:
"DON'T play with the centerpiece!"
